Board Member - Leslie Popik
Leslie Popik is the Deputy Director of Forensic Services at the Greensboro Police Department. Leslie began her career in 2004 as a Crime Scene Investigator. She became a Supervisor in 2014 and was promoted to her current role in 2018. As Deputy Director she supervises the Latent Print Section, the Firearms and Toolmark Section, CSI Supervisors, and the Property and Evidence Supervisor. She also serves as the Quality Assurance Manager overseeing ANAB ISO/IEC 17020:2012 International accreditation standards in the Firearms and Toolmark Section, as well as the Latent Print Section.
Leslie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from Appalachian State University. She has also been an International Association for Identification (IAI) Certified Crime Scene Investigator (CCSI) since 2007.
Leslie has been a member of the North Carolina chapter of the IAI since 2004 and has served on the Merchandise Committee, the Conference Committee, and the Legal and Forensic Updates Committee. Additionally, she is a member of the International Association for Property and Evidence.
